The BrainFoodToGo.com "digital diner" serves both as an Incubator that nurtures start up enterprises and an Accelerator that helps existing businesses grow and prosper. And, we serve aspiring and achieving entrepreneurs wherever they might be physically located.

In contrast to traditional incubator buildings, the virtual incubator is a facility literally without walls, just like the BrainFood digital diner. In other words, the recipients of the counseling provided by the Virtual Incubator operate their businesses in locations which they select, ones that are affordable and suited to their unique needs.

Counseling and assistance is provided to these Virtual Incubator "tenants" – who we call "members" – via the Internet, e-mail, telephone, and other electronic communication media. This communication is supplemented by frequent one-on-one and group meetings between Members and Virtual Incubator Coaches at convenient meeting locations and, upon request, at Members' worksites.

Experienced Coaches are recruited to provide assistance to Virtual IncubatorMembers. There is no cost to become a Member of the Virtual Incubator.

Without the costs of owning and maintaining a bricks-and-mortar building, the Virtual Incubator can devote the bulk of its resources to providing coaching and mentoring services to its Members. Realizing the importance of proper facilities to an emerging enterprise, however, Virtual Incubator coaches often assist venturers in securing affordable, accommodating physical facilities in the region in which they operate.

A number of important services can be provided by an incubator in such a "virtual" mode. Most importantly the Virtual Incubator recruits experienced Coaches who are uniquely qualified to provide counseling services to entrepreneurs who are in the start-up or growth modes. In this mentoring capacity, Coaches empower the Virtual Incubator to help venturers:

Construct and validate a business model.

The Virtual Incubator can assist a venturer in crafting a conceptual model of his or her business initiative. A Coach can help “translate” the tangible value, utility, marketability and profitability it represents into a compelling opportunity. These explanations are essential to the execution of key activities (e.g. capital procurement, employment, purchasing, etc.) in which the emerging enterprise must engage.

Recruit experienced “helpers.”

Virtual Incubator Coaches can help organize a mentoring / advisory board for each client that employs the talents of veteran business owners and entrepreneurs. The Virtual Incubator can also assist each nascent venturer in the recruitment of a full-time or part-time “chief operating officer” or other key employees with adequate knowledge and proven business experience.

Formulate a strategic vision.

The Virtual Incubator can conduct a Pathfinding process for the principals of each venture served by it (i.e. Members) in order to produce a strategic vision and a plan document denoting the string of achievements and accomplishments that are necessary in order to attain the goals sought.

Prepare a business plan.

Virtual Incubator Coaches can help recruit and task the additional talent needed to formulate detailed practical business, financial and marketing plans for each venturer. This not only ensures the identification of sufficient revenues, margins, net profit and cash flow, but enhances the probability that the developers of intellectual property being used in the venture will enjoy a sustained flow of profit, licensing fees, royalty income or equity appreciation.

Secure a site and secure the required fixtures, equipment and materials.

The Virtual Incubator maintains a roster of cooperating vendors and real estate providers who provide valuable purchasing and asset acquisition opportunities.

Institute the necessary financial controls.

The Virtual Incubator can solicit cooperating accounting firms, financial advisers, and software providers to help entrepreneurs establish internal processes that insure effectiveoperation and financial integrity.
