Leaders & Legends audio programs are created to provide ideas, insights and inspiration to business owners, managers and entrepreneurs. Each program features a candid, one-on-one interview with a recognized and respected business leader. The purpose of this project is to capture and preserve unique information, insights and advice concerning leadership responsibilities so that other aspiring venturers, now and in the future, may gain helpful inspiration and guidance with respect to the process of enterprise development. Each audio vérité program features a thirty to forty-five minute, first-person interview with a successful entrepreneur “who made it happen” and, as a consequence contributed significantly to our contemporary economic landscape.

Each recording is carefully edited and formatted to enhance its contribution to interested listeners. The audio sessions are converted to digital audio files that can be accessed through a number of convenient listening devices including, PCs and laptop computers, home and auto CD players and portable audio devices like iPods and MP3 players. All programs are also distributed world-wide through the popular www.BrainFoodToGo.com® web site.

The personal insights offered by Leaders & Legends  will be invaluable to present and future generations of entrepreneurs and business leaders. Imagine the benefits that would accrue to the intellectual community if recorded person-to-person interviews had been conducted with such entrepreneurial luminaries as Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, David Sarnoff, Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Watson and the like. Today’s students, historians, scholars and writers would have an entirely different dimension of understanding and appreciation with which to enhance their work.

Each interview is structured to provide unique, intimate insights into an entrepreneurial persona and his or her specific accomplishments. These candid recordings capture the personality, charisma, insights, intellect and eccentricities, of the subject that empowered him or her to achieve and accomplish. Listeners benefit from a form of personalization that written reports and memoirs cannot offer. The oral biographies facilitated by the Leaders & Legends series are able to capture observations and perspectives that generally elude formal interviews that are designed for books and articles. Our “first-person” approach medium provides an intimate portrait that can be preserved and accessed for many years to come. Furthermore, every recorded “story” captures the unique personality of its subject. The famous “Person to Person” interviews of prominent figures conducted by Edward R. Murrow in the early days of television now afford us an unusual perspective of history as it was being made. Leaders & Legends  will perform a similar service in the world of business enterprise.

Indeed, frank, tape-recorded interviews capture and transcend the facts in each story. They provide a truly “living history” of the motives, drives, goals, fears, foibles and failures of some of the most important “movers and shakers” in today’s economic world.

These interviews with Leaders & Legends  are made available world-wide as podcasts on the internet portal BrainFoodToGo.com The recordings are also distributed to public libraries and libraries at schools of business at colleges and universities. They constitute “living libraries” that, for generations to come, will provide extremely beneficial contributions to the constituents of these institutions.

The Leaders & Legends  recordings provide many benefits:

v     Assistance in research
v     Support in preparing papers and class projects
v     Supplementary material for instructors
v     Material for books and articles
v     Inspiration and encouragement for the leaders of tomorrow
v     Insights for career planning
v     Information for important constituents of the interviewee’s enterprise including, current and prospective employees, shareholders, customers and vendors
v     Seasoned advice for innovators

In addition, copies of an interview can be made available to the featured subject or his or her enterprise for the purpose of directly distributing this valuable treasure to other key constituencies, including, employees, shareholders, customers, investment analysts, etc.

The interview is conducted by a professional host who guides the conversation to the topics, events and anecdotes that are most relevant to the subject. With the permission of the interviewee, these audio interviews can also be conducted by students enrolled in college level entrepreneurship courses. The result is a revealing “exposition” that showcases personality, the true power of the entrepreneur.

An interview is conducted at time and place convenient to the involved subject. Often they are done right over the telephone. Advance information provided by the interviewee assists in formulating the interview. The individual being interviewed has a post-discussion opportunity to give final approval or make suggestions for editing before the finished dialogue is distributed.

The content of each interview is segmented according to sub-topic and cataloged to facilitate use in other media and in other formats. It is anticipated that parts of each interview will be combined with other materials or similar interviews to produce topic-specific (as contrasted to person-specific) audio publications.
