"Fireside Chats with Kurt van Karma, a future President of the United States, are audio podcasts that will transport you into another dimension… a time in the future where you will confront the outcomes of the social, economic, and political decisions you and your fellow citizens are making today.
With a “fireside chat” like the ones pioneered by a US president almost a century ago, these podcasts will reveal how a future President deals with plausible consequences of previous generations’ actions and policies. Hopefully, this glimpse into an imaginable future will provide some enlightened guidance for our fellow citizens’ decisions today. Podcast #1 focuses on remedying homelessness. Future chats will run approximately 10 to 15 minutes and feature topics that could become critical issues in the future. For example: redefining the “press;” euthanasia criteria; cancelling history; social monitoring and "crediting;" allocated and automated education; energy rationing; genome editing; on-line voting; the impacts of oligarchy; mandated investing; universal facial recognition; fantasy debt repayment; crowd manipulation; voting rewards; political shunning; as-needed income redistribution; rewardable crime and enlightened punishment; “naughty” and “nice” lists; citifying the countryside; dramaturgical law-making; social dietary controls; managed famines; crowd creation and manipulation; energy rationing; robot unionization; replacement of traditional currency; and similar plausible issues. Just the kind of stuff that should keep us on our toes and trigger further inquiry, speculation, and deliberation. Note: It's not the purpose of Fireside Chats to pout, preach, proselytize, or predict, but simply to provide some plausible future outcomes to the “what if’s?” that many folks are responding to cavalierly today. Apologies to Rod Serling, George Orwell, and Ray Bradbury. Click here to be notified when future podcasts in this series are available.
