Explore the legend of the most famous reindeer of all time
Picture

Listen and learn how Rudolph's story was created
by Paul Willax
Click below and hear how Robert May created the incredible tale of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.

Examine the original manuscript
by Robert L. May

As you scroll through the original, hand-created manuscript below (circa 1939), keep in mind that this initial draft conjured up a story about Santa's Christmas Eve visits to families in the reindeer community, including Rudolph's. In contrast, popular Rudolph songs that emerged later relate to Santa's visits to the homes of little boys and girls across the globe.
